Why send stablecoins on Solana: fees, speed and finality

Solana settles a USDC transfer in under a second for a fraction of a cent. Here is how that compares to Ethereum, Tron and bank wires, and what to watch out for.

The network a stablecoin travels on decides how much you pay and how long you wait. The dollar is the same; the rails are not. Luindy is built on Solana because, for moving stablecoins between people, it is the best combination of cost, speed and reliability available today.

The numbers

RailTypical fee to send $1,000 USDCTime to finalNotes
Solana~$0.0005~0.4 sNative USDC and USDT
Ethereum mainnet$1 – $15~12 min for full finalityFees spike with congestion
Tron$1 – $5 (USDT)~1 minUSDT only, popular in Asia
Bank wire (international)$25 – $50 plus FX1 – 5 business daysBusiness hours only

Figures are typical ranges observed in 2025–2026 and will vary. The point is the order of magnitude: Solana is thousands of times cheaper than a wire and settles before you can put your phone down.

What "finality" actually means

A transfer is final when it cannot be reversed. On Solana, a transaction is confirmed by a supermajority of validators in roughly 400 milliseconds, and after about 32 further slots (around 13 seconds) it is considered fully finalised. Luindy shows a transfer as Settled at confirmation and treats it as irreversible at finality. For everyday amounts the difference is invisible.

What to watch out for

  • Wrong network. USDC exists on many chains. Sending Ethereum USDC to a Solana address will not arrive. Always confirm the network with the recipient.
  • Rent. Solana accounts hold a tiny SOL deposit to exist. Luindy handles this for you, so you never need to hold SOL to receive or send stablecoins.
  • Congestion. Solana has had outages in the past. The network has been far more stable since 2023, and Luindy queues transfers safely if it ever pauses.
  • Address reuse. Your Luindy address is permanent. You can share it as many times as you like.

Why Luindy is Solana-only

Supporting many networks multiplies the ways things can go wrong: bridges, wrapped tokens, wrong-chain deposits. One network with native USDC and USDT, sub-second settlement and near-zero fees covers what most people need. If you hold stablecoins elsewhere, move them to Solana once, then never think about gas again.
